That no-jail finding changes how Cass County inmate records should be searched. A person arrested by a Cass County deputy or local police department may be released, cited, taken to court, held briefly for processing, or transferred to a receiving facility. The confirmed serving facility in the research is Menard County Detention Facility in Petersburg. Menard's official sheriff page says its public portal can show the current roster of Menard County Jail inmates, but Cass County should not be described as operating that facility.

The most reliable Cass County inmate lookup begins with the arresting county and then follows the custody trail. Keep names, dates, and agency details together. A common path is arrest by Cass County law enforcement, transfer to Menard for housing if detention is required, court filing in Cass County Circuit Court, and later IDOC only if a state-prison sentence is imposed.
